Heartwood from bright olive yellow to gold-brown (similar to teak). The wood darkens when allowed to dry further and takes on a yellowish color. The veneer pattern is shot through with very attractive darker bands. Very fine veins can be seen on the cross-cut wood and form regular pore grooves on the straight cut.
Application:
As a substitute for teak in furniture making and interior fittings on ships.
